What do you think about the Sphynx kittens? I am little confused by their look. And I think that this is one bad human joke to cats. Maybe you already know, that the Sphynx is a rare breed of cat known for its lack of a coat. Everything started 200 years ago in Canada, where hairless kitten named Prune was born. Later the hairless kitten was mated with its mother (process called backcrossing), which produced one more naked kitten.
Together with a few naked kittens found later it founded the first attempt to create a hairless breed. The first sphynx breeders faced a number of problems. One of them is related with the genetic pool - it was was very limited. The second problem is related with breeders - they had rather vague ideas about sphynx genetics and this resulted in many kittens deaths.
There was also a problem with many of the females suffering strong and painful convulsions. The last 2 descendents of Prune, a brother-sister pair, were sent to Holland in the 1970s, but the male was uninterested in mating and the female conceived only once, but lost the litter.
In 1978 and later in 1980, two further hairless female kittens were found in the Canadian capital Toronto and were sent to Holland to be bred with Prune's last surviving male descendent. The remaining of the story is known to everybody. Now we have hairless cats and this is disguising and one of the most idiotic human inventions.
So as you can see on this video, two Sphynx kittens are trying to remove their sweaters, because they can't feel it as good cloth. Their lack of fur made them exposed to cold weather and this one of reasons they to be ill often.
The video show funny video, but I am not so perverted to say, that I like naked kittens. I prefer to hug kitty with fur.
